HistoryAs a child who grew up middle class yet still relying on government
assistance to meet our basic needs I vowed to reach as many people as I could who had a will to succeed , but lack resources. It was in my work as an Case Manager at a larger organization I was put on the front lines to witness the struggles of those in the greatest need. Some simply fell on hard times, while others don't have access to knowledge and resources. Imagine finally gaining employment, only to realize you don't have enough bus fare to get back and forth until your 1st paycheck.Or your teenage child is at risk of repeating a grade level simply because they don't have access to a computer needed to complete their school project, or lack funds to purchase a poster board for the science fair. Unfortunately, these scenarios are all to common. Here at Hearts of Humanity we tackle the whole person from the inside out getting to the root cause therefore, decreasing the rate of re-occurrence while eliminating barriers that lead to poverty. |
